Kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral fracturesReview articles
Purpose of the work: Vertebro and kyphoplasty [VP, KP] is a new method, which is used in the treatment of the osteoporotic verteb ral fractures. It's relatively simple and safe technique, which brings almost immediate loss of pain and the possibility of early patients mobilization. Purpose of the work was to compare the effec time of analgetic effect and summing up the complications. Material and procedure: From 4/2003 to 2/2006 we made VP and KP on 38 patients, most often was damaged the L1 and the Th12. According to Magerles classification were identified t [VAS] for evaluation of the operated patient's status.
Results: Complete number of operated and interviewed patients was 38, there were 26 properly filled in questionaries , and out of tho se 11 we patient. Analgetic efect - Average VAS for both groups of patients [VP, KP] was before operation 8.5, and upon dismissal from the hospital 3.0 and nowadays - at least 3 months after operation the VAS is 1.5. In group KP - VAS before operation 8.9, after operation 2.7, present
